We often use this on the ends of hair for a glossy finish with darker roots, it pairs beautifully with shades 6/4 or 5/4 to maintain a lighter effect. This hero shade truly transforms and brightens your hair.

Sodium Sulphate, Sodium Percarbonate, Xanthan Gum, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Hydrated Silica, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Paraffinum Liquidum, Sodium Metasilicate, +/-4-Amino-m-Cresol,+/- 2-Amino-6-Chloro-4-Nitrophenol, +/- p-Phenylenediamine Sulfate, +/- 4-Amino-2-Hydroxytoluene, +/- HC Yellow No. 2, +/- 1,5 Naphthalenediol, +/-1-Hydroxyethyl 4, 5-Diamino Pyrazole Sulfate, +/-p-Aminophenol, +/-Toluene-2, 5-Diamine Sulfate.

This product contains PPD and PTD/TDS to cover grey, which may cause skin irritation for certain individuals. Always skin test 48 hours before use as directed in our leaflet.

This product must not be used for dyeing eyelashes or eyebrows.

Avoid contact with eyes. If product gets into eyes, rinse immediately with water. If any irritation occurs, seek medical advice.

NOT FOR USE BY CHILDREN UNDER 16.

Store Colour Pouch in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight.

Packaging has a maximum shelf life of 12 months.

INSTRUCTIONS

HOW TO USE H20 HAIR COLOUR

SKIN SENSITIVITY TEST

ALWAYS SKIN TEST 48 HRS BEFORE USE

Allergies are personal and a minority of people may react to one of our ingredients. This can change over time, so even if you’ve used Natural Colour Works™ H20 Water Colour before, we recommend that you ALWAYS skin test 48 hours before use.
Take a pinch of Natural Colour Works™ H20 Water Colour powder from the pouch and mix it with a few drops of water in a small bowl. Use a kitchen clip to reseal the pouch immediately and make sure it doesn’t get wet.
Wash a small patch of skin inside your elbow and behind your ear. Pat dry. Apply some of the colour mixture to these areas with cotton wool.
Allow to dry for 48hrs.
If you feel any irritation, redness, swelling or burning during this time, it’s likely that you’ve got an allergy to one of the ingredients and you shouldn’t use it.

GET STARTED

Please read all instructions carefully and always protect your clothes and home from colour staining. Use old towels.

What you will need from the kitchen:

MIXING

Carefully pour 70 ml or 5 tablespoons of hand-hot water into your clean bottle per pouch of Natural Colour Works™ H20 Water Colour. Don’t over dilute.
Add all the H20 Water Colour powder into your bottle and screw on the lid tight.
Give it a good old vigorous shake for at least 10 seconds until you can’t hear liquid sploshing around anymore. Great for the arms and you now have a bottle of H20 Water Colour foam.

FULL HEADERS

If this is your first time using Natural Colour Works™ H20 Water Colour, or your hair is completely faded out and showing no signs of regrowth, we’d recommend a full head treatment.

Start with clean, dry hair that’s been washed with a clarifying shampoo. Don’t use conditioner or 2-in-1 products.
Apply a barrier cream or Vaseline to the hairline and ears before colouring to help reduce staining.
Wearing water resistant gloves (either ours or your own) pour your Natural Colour Works™ H20 Water Colour foam into a stain resistant bowl and using your tint brush for life apply foam to your roots at roughly 1 cm intervals.
Give any grey an extra thick covering and massage the left-over foam through the rest of the length of your hair evenly.
Pile your hair up on top and cover with your Reusable Cap making sure to fix it tightly to prevent any drips or hair drying out.
Leave it on for 90 minutes, then rinse the foam out of your hair until the water runs clear.
Use your usual shampoo to wash and rinse again, then apply your conditioner as usual, rinse, style, and you’re good to go.

GETTING TO THE ROOTS

If you’ve used Natural Colour Works™ H20 Water Colour before and are looking to touch up the roots and boost that glossy shine, follow these simple steps.

Start with clean, dry hair that’s been washed with a clarifying shampoo. Don’t use conditioner or 2-in-1 products.
Wearing water resistant gloves (either ours or your own) pour your Natural Colour Works™ H20 Water Colour foam into a stain resistant bowl and using your tint brush for life apply foam to your roots just to cover the regrowth. Apply it thickly to grey hair and be careful not to go over your last application. Hold onto the rest of the foam for later and pile your hair up on top with a clip. Cover with your Reusable Cap making sure to fix it tightly to prevent any drips or hair drying out.
Leave it on for 90 minutes, then apply the remaining foam through the rest of your hair, recover with your Reusable Cap and leave for another 15 minutes.
Rinse the foam out of your hair until the water runs clear. Use your usual shampoo to wash and rinse again, then apply your conditioner as usual, rinse, style, and you’re good to go.

Excellent product

I’ve used this hair twice now and love it so much I’ve just set up a subscription. I am 62 and obviously have many grey hairs. I find this hair product easy to use and I adore my new hair colour. It’s great at covering my grays and it’s so reassuring that it’s so natural and is not damaging my hair. When I was a lot younger I used to use Henna, this product is obviously different but I get the lovely Auburn colour I always loved 🥰

I’m 62 years old and I’m over the moon I’ve found this wonderful hair colour, It’s so kind to my hair and so gentle. It’s well worth the two hours of letting it work it’s magic, I put some music on and do some cleaning. I actually find this so much more relaxing than going to a hairdressers and it’s saving me a small fortune.
When I was a teenager I used henna, now I’m addicted to this marvellous product 😃❤️😃

Lovely glossy hair but colour definitely doesn’t match its name

Lovely glossy hair but colour definitely doesn’t match its name, I am a medium brown and it sent my hair jet black. I didn’t know you had colour charts at the time so went by the name. I have used a colour remover as you suggested but it has remained black so will have to wait it out.

Dear Kim, apologies I thought I'd replied to your review. Thank you so much for sharing your experience, I know that Scott has been in contact with you and I think that he's given you some colour advice for next time. As a working salon we do use an international professional colour naming unlike many traditional box dyes. Our formulation also builds colour and reflects the base you're putting it over, this is what gives the lovely multidimensional effect. As we don't mix with peroxide to lift the hair it may appear slightly deeper than one with a peroxide so we recommend choosing a slightly lighter shade that you were using before. You can keep using the clarifying shampoo to hurry up the natural fade process and next time only colour the roots but please do reach out if you need need any more advice at all. This is lovely hair colour

This is lovely hair colour. I've been using box blonde on my mid brown hair for years. But underneath the bleach it has gradually gone salt and pepper with quite a bit of white/grey. I have stopped using the box peroxide now because it was making my hair frizzy. This natural dye doesn't lighten my remaining dark hair, but gives my white/grey hair a nice blonde look. The overall effect is much more natural looking than the box dye and I'm really happy with it.

Fantastic colour & longevity

This colour is excellent - great coverage and lasts ages. Most importantly, no damage or breakage - which l was getting with standard box colours and their strong developers.
l’m growing out blonde underneath my brown hair which was first covered over with bright red - this does a fabulous job of stopping it all showing through!
