Sodium Sulphate, Sodium Percarbonate, Xanthan Gum, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Hydrated Silica, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Paraffinum Liquidum, Sodium Metasilicate, +/-4-Amino-m-Cresol,+/- 2-Amino-6-Chloro-4-Nitrophenol, +/- p-Phenylenediamine Sulfate, +/- 4-Amino-2-Hydroxytoluene, +/- HC Yellow No. 2, +/- 1,5 Naphthalenediol, +/-1-Hydroxyethyl 4, 5-Diamino Pyrazole Sulfate, +/-p-Aminophenol, +/-Toluene-2, 5-Diamine Sulfate.

This product contains PPD and TDS to cover grey, which may cause skin irritation for certain individuals. Always skin test 48 hours before use as directed in our leaflet.

This product must not be used for dyeing eyelashes or eyebrows.

Avoid contact with eyes. If product gets into eyes, rinse immediately with water. If any irritation occurs, seek medical advice.

NOT FOR USE BY CHILDREN UNDER 16.

Store Colour Pouch in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight.

INSTRUCTIONS

HOW TO USE H20 HAIR COLOUR

SKIN SENSITIVITY TEST

ALWAYS SKIN TEST 48 HRS BEFORE USE

Allergies are personal and a minority of people may react to one of our ingredients. This can change over time, so even if you’ve used Natural Colour Works™ H20 Water Colour before, we recommend that you ALWAYS skin test 48 hours before use.
Take a pinch of Natural Colour Works™ H20 Water Colour powder from the pouch and mix it with a few drops of water in a small bowl. Use a kitchen clip to reseal the pouch immediately and make sure it doesn’t get wet.
Wash a small patch of skin inside your elbow and behind your ear. Pat dry. Apply some of the colour mixture to these areas with cotton wool.
Allow to dry for 48hrs.
If you feel any irritation, redness, swelling or burning during this time, it’s likely that you’ve got an allergy to one of the ingredients and you shouldn’t use it.

GET STARTED

Please read all instructions carefully and always protect your clothes and home from colour staining. Use old towels.

What you will need from the kitchen:

MIXING

Carefully pour 70 ml or 5 tablespoons of hand-hot water into your clean bottle per pouch of Natural Colour Works™ H20 Water Colour. Don’t over dilute.
Add all the H20 Water Colour powder into your bottle and screw on the lid tight.
Give it a good old vigorous shake for at least 10 seconds until you can’t hear liquid sploshing around anymore. Great for the arms and you now have a bottle of H20 Water Colour foam.

FULL HEADERS

If this is your first time using Natural Colour Works™ H20 Water Colour, or your hair is completely faded out and showing no signs of regrowth, we’d recommend a full head treatment.

Start with clean, dry hair that’s been washed with a clarifying shampoo. Don’t use conditioner or 2-in-1 products.
Apply a barrier cream or Vaseline to the hairline and ears before colouring to help reduce staining.
Wearing water resistant gloves (either ours or your own) pour your Natural Colour Works™ H20 Water Colour foam into a stain resistant bowl and using your tint brush for life apply foam to your roots at roughly 1 cm intervals.
Give any grey an extra thick covering and massage the left-over foam through the rest of the length of your hair evenly.
Pile your hair up on top and cover with your Reusable Cap making sure to fix it tightly to prevent any drips or hair drying out.
Leave it on for 90 minutes, then rinse the foam out of your hair until the water runs clear.
Use your usual shampoo to wash and rinse again, then apply your conditioner as usual, rinse, style, and you’re good to go.

GETTING TO THE ROOTS

If you’ve used Natural Colour Works™ H20 Water Colour before and are looking to touch up the roots and boost that glossy shine, follow these simple steps.

Start with clean, dry hair that’s been washed with a clarifying shampoo. Don’t use conditioner or 2-in-1 products.
Wearing water resistant gloves (either ours or your own) pour your Natural Colour Works™ H20 Water Colour foam into a stain resistant bowl and using your tint brush for life apply foam to your roots just to cover the regrowth. Apply it thickly to grey hair and be careful not to go over your last application. Hold onto the rest of the foam for later and pile your hair up on top with a clip. Cover with your Reusable Cap making sure to fix it tightly to prevent any drips or hair drying out.
Leave it on for 90 minutes, then apply the remaining foam through the rest of your hair, recover with your Reusable Cap and leave for another 15 minutes.
Rinse the foam out of your hair until the water runs clear. Use your usual shampoo to wash and rinse again, then apply your conditioner as usual, rinse, style, and you’re good to go.

Loved the kit and its eco credentials. I have marked my score down due to the colour being far darker than anticipated and no reply when reaching out to the business for advice as to how to reverse

Hi Jane, I'm so sorry the team have missed your email - I'll send you a message now. Our colours can come up slightly darker than traditional box dyes, but you can use a clarifying shampoo again to take some of that out or a little lemon juice with olive oil in the sun for a few hours will also lift it. H20 Hair Colour

H20 Hair Colour saved my hair! I'd had some awful experiences with semi-permanent hair colours that actually left shades of blue or green in my hair....
Since starting H20 hair colour, my hair has had a chance to recover, and its natural light blond is showing once again. I'm very happy with the results. I highly recommend this product. I've also tried the Shea curl hair mask, and I'd recommend that also, especially for curly hair.

Deep Dark Blonde 6.0

The application of this product was so easy to use. The video on the website was excellent.
I first shampooed my hair twice using a clarifying shampoo as advised and left my hair to dry thoroughly before applying the colour. The shade was a little bit too dark for my skin tone and it would have been better if I had asked for advice instead of diving straight in! However the colour had a beautiful warmth to it and following the next hair wash I would say that the colour had lightened slightly. It was never too dark that it prevented me from being seen out in the first place! The condition of my hair has improved significantly, it was dry and damaged due to using chemical hair dyes. I will never return to using anything but Natural Colour Works products on my hair in the future. I am extremely pleased with the outcome, just waiting on further advice regarding which shade to use going forward.
I really wish I had discovered these natural hair colours years ago!

Starter kit

Being a new customer to Natural Colour Works I thought it would be best to buy the starter kit. Obviously this includes a hair colour of your choice, either £12 or £10.80 subscription. The kit costs £17.94. Therefore the cost of the reusable tint brush, compostable cap and gloves (the gloves split the first time used!) amounts to either £5.94 or £7.14……..If I had thought about it I would have just bought the colour.

Thanks so much for taking the time to review our starter kit Karen. We put the kit together to give new customers choice to get everything from us (at a small discount, we don't do this one on a subscription) or to just order the colour and use what they have already at home. Ideally we would always love to just send you colour - better for you and the planet. Wonderful to hear that you loved the colour too - thank you!
